Episode Ninety Nine – Role Play – Chelsea is shunned by Jehovah’s Witnesses

Often when we grow up we are given roles to play in life. Whether we pick these up by observing the adults around us or we pick them up in our response to those same people, it isn’t unusual to find ourselves repeating patterns from our past. Chelsea’s story is one of living in confusion and eventually becoming strong enough to break out of the roles given to her by her family and the cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses. (With love to Levi, may he rest in peace.)

The song that Chelsea chose to represent her journey is Walk by Foo Fighters. She also chose the song My Hero by Foo Fighters for Levi.

  1. I love you chelsea!! I’m so proud that you came out to tell everyone your story, and helped me and still help me as i try to get out myself <3 -GK

  2. CHELS! It was such a privilege to meet the 17 year old you that made the decision to leave JW & it has been such an honor to watch you blossom into the amazing mother, woman, wife & friend that you are today (even if from a distance). I’ll forever be in your corner. Love you always.

  3. Chelt-SEA!
Thank you for sharing your strength, bravery, and vulnerability. May this be another stepping stone on your healing journey as well as those listening with theirs.

  4. You will always be one of my best friends no matter the distance or going without seeing each other for 15 years. I loved you then and I love you now. I could see how crazy and unnatural things were for you and every change I got I was with you away from home. Being told I was a bad influence and never being able to see you again truly broke my heart. I am SO PROUD of the woman you became. I’m so glad you got out. And I’m so glad you can open up about your life. I love you chels
